Visit of Hungarian Ambassador

An Inaugural Reception for the Ambassador of Hungary to Croatia H. E. József Magyar was held at the University of Rijeka Rectorate today, November 8th, 2017. Ms. Anita Györei, Deputy Head of Mission, and Mr. Dénes Sokcsevits, director of the Hungarian Cultural Centre in Zagreb, were in the Ambassador's entourage.

His Excellency was greeted by the University of Rijeka Rector, Snježana Prijić-Samaržija, Ph.D., along with Vice-Rectors: Full Prof. Sanja Barić, Ph.D., and Full Prof. Goran Turkalj, Ph.D. Madam Rector introduced our distinguished guests with the basic information about the University of Rijeka, but they also discussed development strategies, academic cooperation, cultural, sports and economic relations. Mr. Magyar signed an entry in the University of Rijeka guestbook.

An agreement was reached that one lector for Hungarian language will come to the University of Rijeka and that lecturers will be available for the ''Javni dijalozi'' cycle during 2018 on the topic of the future of European Union from the perspective of Central European countries (countries: Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary). The members of the University Management welcomed the idea as a contribution to the activities related to the 45th anniversary of the University which is to be celebrated next year.
