Public city transport in the Rijeka area, divided into four zones, is provided by KD AUTOTROLEJ Rijeka. This company offers single tickets and weekly, monthly and annual passes, as well as student passes (St) with coupons for zones 1, 2, 3, or 4.
To obtain a bus pass, the student has to go to Autotrolej and provide a Certificate confirming their student status issued by the Student Administration office of their home faculty or department. Other requirements are a photograph (3×3.5 cm) not older than 6 months, and the student transcript book (“indeks”) with an enrolled and certified semester of the current academic year.
The value coupon for a student pass is available for purchase from the 21st of the current month until the 10th of the following month.
Work hours of sales locations Monday through Friday:
• Ban Josip Jelačić Square and Delta parking lot – 6:45 AM – 7:30 PM
• Opatija – 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM until the 5th of the month, otherwise 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
On Saturdays, tickets can be purchased at Ban Josip Jelačić Square and Delta parking lot from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and in Opatija from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Almost all carriers operating in the Rijeka area offer additional benefits for students who use intercity transport.

CROATIABUS offers a 10% discount to students on all domestic lines and lines to Germany and Switzerland; the student is only required to show their student ID or student transcript book. For purchasing a monthly pass, Croatiabus offers a 30% discount on all lines of the passenger’s choice, under the condition of making 22 bus trips within two months.
ČAZMATRANS offers a 10% discount to all students on international lines.
