Student Projects Funding

The signatory ceremony of the Agreement on the Rights and Obligations of the Use of Funds, for ensuring funds for financing student projects during 2018, was held on Apr 12, 2018, at the Aula Magna Hall at the UNIRI Rectorate. The Agreement was signed by Prof. Snježana Prijić-Samaržija, Ph.D., UNIRI Rector, Ms. Pegi Pavletić, President of the UNIRI Student Body Government, while the project leaders (of associations, student groups, constituents of the Student Body Government, individuals) signed as co-signatories.

The UNIRI Student Body Government (SZSUR) will finance up to 82 student projects and student associations' projects in 2018, for which purpose almost half a million HRK was allocated.

All this was preceded by the Student Program Funding Tender in 2018, announced by the SZSUR, which was completed on February 12.

Its intention was to encourage students and student organizations to carry out as many activities as possible, to contribute to raising the quality of life of students at the University of Rijeka and to raise awareness of the academic community about the need for volunteer work in the wider community.

Professor Snježana Prijić-Samaržija, Ph.D., University of Rijeka Rector, greeted all the student project leaders present and commended their dedicated work, emphasizing that the students indeed put a lot of effort, first in writing the projects and then in their realization. The University puts students first and it is important to understand and support the culture of student projects, student creativity, student excellence and student activism.

According to Ms. Pegi Pavletić, President of the UNIRI Student Body Government, the aim of these actions is to provide better information to the student population on the possibilities of obtaining funds for realizing the planned activities, with the education on the basics of reporting project ideas, project implementation and project management.

The ceremony at the Rectorate was also an opportunity to present some of the projects.
