The University Counseling Center Rijeka (SSC) is a University constituent set up with the aim of providing the University’s students and staff with different forms of support and counseling. All of its services are entirely free of charge. The SSC includes a
Phsychological Couseling Center, an Office for Students with Disabilities, and a Career Office.
Office for Students with Disabilities
Although the ideals of equal access to education and protection from all kinds of discrimination, including prejudice toward disability, are ensured by the Croatian Constitution, high-school students with disabilities often choose not to pursue further education. The underlying causes are aplenty: from architectural barriers, over their private doubts and societal beliefs about what people with disabilities can achieve, to inadequate support systems at most universities. Striving to provide present and future students with disabilities with everything needed for excellent and equally accessible education, the University of Rijeka has upgraded its University Counseling Center with a much-needed Office for Students with Disabilities.
Our office supports students with:
Learning disabilities (dislexia, disgraphia, and like)
Other medical conditions or difficulties that might affect the course of their studies
