ACADEMICUS – Club of Retired Professors of the University of Rijeka
The club functions as a continuous strategic program activity of the University of Rijeka, aimed at facilitating collaboration in academic activities with retired professors of the University.
It was established by a decision of the Senate of the University of Rijeka on November 24, 2020, under the name “University Club for the Third Age.”
Since July 2023, it has been operating under the name ACADEMICUS.
ACADEMICUS – a place of enduring academic intergenerational dialogue that, through openness, unity, and the transfer of knowledge and experiences, contributes to the well-being of its members. Through its activities, it fosters the transformation of the university into an age-inclusive community, shaping its core value statements in alignment with a new paradigm of aging.

The mission of the Club is to enable retired university professors to continue their engagement and connection with the academic community through intergenerational collaboration and the transfer of knowledge and experience.
The vision of the Club is to be the leading voice of retired professors of the University of Rijeka, contributing to the well-being of its members and having a lasting impact on future generations.

ACTIVITIES
- Academicus organizes various activities primarily for retired professors of the University of Rijeka, while also addressing topics relevant to the broader academic audience. The Club achieves its goals through forums, lectures, discussions, and thematic talks; hosting international meetings and experience exchanges; collaborating with similar international organizations; promoting the Age-Friendly University concept; and hosting gatherings, meetups, and other activities aligned with its core mission.
