Dear UNIRI and Erasmus students,
As the new academic year is approaching quickly, we would like to provide you with the latest updates and recommendations for studying at University of Rijeka in winter semester 20/21.
- Following the recommendations from our Health institute and Ministry of Science and Education, we are preparing for a regular on-site start of academic year, so you can continue carrying out preparations for your arrival according to your host Faculty’s academic calendar.
- Each Faculty/Department of the University of Rijeka will establish possible curriculum plans that enable different teaching models, depending on several epidemic scenarios. In case of need, up to 40% of classes may be conducted online, while different online models will be considered in case of major changes.
- Each Faculty/Department will implement different safety and health measures for students, professors and visitors, which might include temperature measuring, wearing face masks, hands and equipment disinfection, physical distancing and other measures related to class organisation. Depending on the epidemic situation development, students will subsequently receive additional instructions related to schedule, rules of conduct and other important elements at their host Faculty/Department.
Listed measures might also apply to accommodation arrangements, especially in shared rooms like student dormitories.
University of Rijeka is continuously monitoring the development of epidemic situation, with the goal of achieving optimal education quality while respecting all recommended safety measures. Classes and measures will be continuously adjusted to the current epidemic conditions.

This year will surely require additional flexibility and readiness for changes from us all, but together with your cooperation and understanding we expect to adapt to „new normal“, whatever it might bring.
