The University of Rijeka is happy to invite all interested to join this year’s Pint of Science festival!
The Pint of Science festival aims to deliver interesting and relevant talks on the latest science research in an accessible format to the public, mainly across bars, pubs, cafes, and other public spaces. The main goal is to provide a platform that allows people to discuss research with the people who carry it out, and no prior knowledge of the subject is required. Established by a community of postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers in 2013, the Pint of Science is a network of thousands of volunteers who are passionate about bringing discoveries to people.
The main festival takes place annually over three days in May and simultaneously in hundreds of venues worldwide. Each country holds its main events on the same days, bringing the scientific community together. This year, the Croatian Pint of Science will be held in Rijeka and Zagreb on May 18-20.
This year’s topics include The Beautiful Mind (neuroscience, psychology, philosophy, theoretical physics, mathematics…), From Atoms to Galaxies (physics, chemistry, astronomy…), Our Body (medicine, anthropology, healthcare…), Planet Earth (geology, botany, zoology…), Tech Me Out (biotechnology, robotics, computing…), Our Society (law, history, politics, languages…), and Creative Fusion – where science meets art.
