Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, in collaboration with the Primorje-Gorski kotar County and the Regional Development Agency of the Primorje-Gorski kotar County, organized a full-day visit of representatives of diplomatic missions and trade offices in the Republic of Croatia on Friday, February 14, 2020. After visiting the City of Rijeka and the Port of Rijeka, the delegation visited the University of Rijeka Campus, where they were welcomed by Prof. Snježana Prijić-Samaržija, Ph.D., UNIRI Rector.
Madam Rector Prijić-Samaržija addressed the distinguished guests and briefly presented the University of Rijeka: “We give great importance to political, cultural and economic diplomacy, and our good cooperation with the business sector and embassies is high on the list of priorities. Our University is located in Rijeka, the center of our blue and green Primorje-Gorski kotar County. Rijeka is a city with a rich history of war, industry and port activities, and it is the industrial heritage that is constantly increasing tourist value. Our city is a port, a Port of Diversity, and this year it proudly holds the title of the European Capital of Culture. We are proud to be involved in such an important project.” Madam Rector also briefly presented the UNIRI Campus, emphasized that the University of Rijeka recently joined the YUFE Alliance, and mentioned some future praiseworthy initiatives, i.e. Center for Translational Medicine and the Innovation Arena.
