Minor in Political Transformations (30 ECTS)
War, migration, disinformation, climate collapse, and democratic erosion are reshaping politics worldwide. The Minor in Political Transformations explores how systems of power and governance respond to these challenges—and how we can engage ethically and effectively within them.
Students gain theoretical grounding and practical insight into governance, democracy, and global change.
Structure

- Rule of Law and Transnational Corruption
- International Relations and Social Theory
- Engaged Democracy
- Challenge Module: Undoing Autocracy — a practical project connecting politics, international relations, and democratic engagement
- Electives: Choose from EU Integration Policies, Critical Geopolitics, Nationalism & Populism, Anthropocene Politics, and more
Minor in Work and Wellbeing (30 ECTS)
Reimagining Labour, Care, and the Common Good
Burnout, inequality, and digital overload are transforming what “good work” means. The Work and WellbeingMinor brings together international and local participants to rethink labour, care, and sustainability through critical theory, creative practice, and applied research.
At the heart of the programme is The Challenge — a mentored, student-led project addressing a real issue in work and wellbeing. Participants create outputs such as podcasts, toolkits, policy drafts, or creative essays connecting research to action.
Programme Structure
- 2 Core Courses: Discursive Theories & Research Methods
- Challenge Module: A mentored final piece connecting research and practice
- Electives: Topics include feminist approaches to care, anthropology of work, post-work imaginaries, youth and labour, and labour economics
Who Can Enroll?
- Erasmus & YUFE Students
- University of Rijeka Students
- Professionals – Open to those working in NGOs, unions, the public/private sector, or creative industries, with tailored mentoring.
Free for UniRi and YUFE students.
Regular professional fee: €500. For the first generation of participants, a special discounted fee of €425 applies.
The number of participants is limited, and the ranking list will be based on the submitted application materials. For YUFE and University of Rijeka students, completion of a bachelor’s or master’s degree is not required.
The programme is delivered in English and combines intensive in-person sessions with independent, mentored work.
