The University of Bremen (Germany), Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun (Poland), and the University of Rijeka invite all interested students to apply for an Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) on Scientific Communication (for non-native English speakers), taking place at the University of Bremen from 4th to 8th August, 2025.
Modern science is extremely collaborative, and being able to communicate well, whether through writing, casual conversation, or formal presentation, is essential for young researchers.
This course is aimed at students, from undergraduate to PhD level, who speak English as a second language and want to build up their skills and confidence in international communication. The course will take place over a week in Bremen, Germany. The course will also include two online sessions: one before the week in Bremen (July 14) and one after (August 14). Examples will be taken from the life sciences, but enthusiastic students from other subjects are also welcome. Upon finishing the course, the students earn 3 ECTS.
Sessions will be introduced by the teacher (a native English speaker and scientist), followed by group-based tasks, in which students collaborate and complete various communication-based activities in English. In this way, students from different countries and with different levels of ability can support each other in the learning process.
As this is an Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme, please consult with the Erasmus Office to check the availability of Erasmus funds (international@uniri.hr). Only students with Erasmus funding can participate in the Summer School. There are no tuition fees.
