Rector of the University of Rijeka, Prof. Snježana Prijić-Samaržija, Ph.D., was declared “Woman of the Year” by the “Zaposlena” magazine. The award ceremony was held yesterday, July 12, 2022, on the terrace of the Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb, under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Croatia. Upon receiving the award, Rector Prijić-Samaržija stated: Recognition of work fills women with satisfaction. A busy woman is the one who works. All nominees deserve this award equally.
The award and prestigious title “Woman of the Year” has been awarded by “Zaposlena” magazine since 1995, representing women who have achieved significant professional success through their work, promoted women’s rights through their own profession, and tried to pave the way for younger colleagues.
This year’s nominees were also: Ivana Kalogjera Brkić, journalist and founder of the portal and association “Nismo same”, Sanja Bezbradica Jelavić, a lawyer known to the public for the “Madina” case, Ana Horvat Vuković, associate professor at the Department of Constitutional Law at the Faculty of Law in Zagreb, and award-winning Croatian writer Ivana Bodrožić.
We are immensely proud of our Rector, and we thank all our friends and partners for their kind messages, positive reactions and media coverage.
