Prompted by the current situation concerning the Coronavirus pandemic, Prof. Sanja Tatalović Vorkapić, Ph.D., from the UNIRI Faculty of Teacher Education, translated the booklet “Something Strange Happened in My City” into Croatian. The booklet can serve as a guide for children and their parents, as well as educators and teachers, and facilitate clarification for children of this sudden situation.
The author of the original booklet is Dr. Shu-Chen “Jenny” Yen, professor at the Department of Child and Adolescent Studies, California State University, Fullerton, USA.
The text of the booklet can assist parents, educators, and teachers in explaining to children what is happening right now. It is intended for children between the ages of 3 and 8, and it aims to help children understand what is currently going on, what is Coronavirus (COVID-19), what is social distancing, and many other topics related to the current situation.
