This year, the Faculty of Law of the University of Rijeka participated with two student teams in the international moot court competition in sports arbitration, SLAM Moot Court Competition. This is the Faculty’s third year in the competition, and this year, 37 universities from all over the world took part, many of them with more than one team, of which the following should be highlighted: Bologna University (Italy), Ghent University (Belgium), King’s College London (UK), UCLA School of Law (USA), Manchester Metropolitan University (UK), University of Chicago (USA), Edge Hill University (UK), Institut D’Etudes Francophones – Université Paris XIII – Sorbonne (France), and many more.
For the first time, the Rijeka team made it to the round 16, along with the 15 best universities after winning the oral hearing round. Our success is further highligthed by the fact that two Erasmus+ students represented the Faculty, namely Aleksandra Kozłowska (Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland) and Julia Wlodarczyk (University of Wrocław, Poland). The two students are taking the elective course EU sports law, policy & diplomacy within the Jean Monnet Chair at the Faculty of Law. This success is also a great promotion of the Erasmus+ programme!
We would like to thank Julia and Aleksandra, wishing them all the best in their further education and work and congratulate them on their excellent result!
