The second conference of the Erasmus+ project EMPLOYS (Understanding, Evaluating, and Improving Good Governance in the Employment Relations of Athletes in Olympic Sports in Europe) was held on Friday, December 17, 2021, in Lisbon in a hybrid form. The University of Rijeka, i.e. the Faculty of Law is one of the project partners, along with Universidade Europeia (Portugal), Edge Hill University (Great Britain), and Institute for Sports Governance (Poland).
The key-note lecture was delivered by Mr. Jose Manuel Araujo (European Olympic Committee), while the athletes Célio Dias and Sofia Gomes shared their point of view on the Project’s topic and the interim report of the scientific research on the employment relationship in Olympic sports in all EU-27 Member States, Norway, and the UK. Furthermore, the conference also featured a panel discussion with Portuguese stakeholders. There was also a panel discussion on the comparative perspective in Italy, France, Austria, and Malta. The next conference will be organized at the beginning of 2022 at Edge Hill University (UK), then at the end of April, the Faculty of Law will host the fourth conference with a topic on good governance. The Project will end in December 2022.
