At a time when Rijeka is securing its position as a port of strategic importance in global logistics and affirming the territory of the Kvarner aquatorium as a key potential for future development, the second generation of students of Urban Studies, a specialist study programme at the University of Rijeka, is contextualizing their works under the theme of ”The Future of Water Worlds”.
To approach the future planning of the city of Rijeka, students will examine new models of planning the coexistence of the city and water through three panel discussions with guest experts, from the perspective of the city’s relationship with the sea and the seashore, the Rječina river and the Dead Channel as an infrastructural element that creates the land Delta.
Join the discussions on the future of Rijeka on Monday, April 27, 2026, in the Circolo Hall, the premises of the Italian Community of Rijeka (Uljarska ulica 1)!
The symposium is organized by the Centre for Urban Transition, Architecture and Urbanism – DeltaLab of the University of Rijeka, Primorje-Gorski kotar County, Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Zagreb, and the Italian Community Rijeka.
