The University of Rijeka will host the 2026 WIPO Summer School on Intellectual Property, taking place from 31 August to 11 September 2026 at the University Campus. The programme is organized by the WIPO Academy, in cooperation with the State Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Croatia (SIPO), with the University of Rijeka serving as the host institution for this internationally recognized educational initiative.
Designed for graduate and postgraduate students, as well as young professionals from a wide range of disciplines, the Summer School offers a unique opportunity to explore the role of intellectual property in driving innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship, and technological development.
Over the course of two weeks, participants will engage with leading experts through lectures, case studies, practical exercises, and interactive discussions covering key topics in intellectual property. The programme also provides valuable insight into international IP practices and the role of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in the global intellectual property ecosystem.
In today’s knowledge-based economy, understanding intellectual property is increasingly important across sectors, from research and technology to business, creative industries, and public policy. The Summer School equips participants with knowledge and skills that can support their academic development and future careers in an increasingly innovation-driven world.
Applications are open until 10 July 2026 and must be submitted through the WIPO website. Further information about the programme, eligibility requirements, and participation fees is available here.
Students and young professionals interested in gaining international experience and expanding their understanding of intellectual property are encouraged to apply.
