After more than two years of virtual meetings, YERUN members have met again in person in Madrid on 31 March 2022, on the occasion of the General Assembly hosted by Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M).
The meeting was held in a hybrid format, allowing colleagues who could not join in person to participate virtually. The General Assembly was the first one to be chaired by the YERUN President Prof. Snježana Prijić-Samaržija, Ph.D., Rector of the University of Rijeka, who was elected in September 2021, taking over from Prof. Bernd Scholz-Reiter, Ph.D., Rector of the University of Bremen, who served YERUN as President from September 2019 until September 2021. Participants were also welcomed by Prof. Juan Romo, Ph.D., Rector of UC3M, and host of this GA.
The General Assembly was the occasion to officially welcome the latest four new YERUN members, namely the Universities of Klagenfurt, Potsdam, South-Eastern Norway, and Stirling, who joined the network on 1st January 2022.
Extraordinary elections were held for a position in the Executive Board: members unanimously voted in favour of Prof. Florian Schweigert, Ph.D., Vice President for International Affairs and Fundraising at the University of Potsdam.
