The Department of Biotechnology of the University of Rijeka has opened applications for a new international graduate study program “Biotechnology for the Life Sciences”, which will be conducted in English. The study program was devised exclusively for highly motivated individuals who want to advance in their careers pursuing biotechnological scientific research and life science research.
Future students will gain a quality theoretical basis in these areas, given that the program will emphasize the acquisition of intellectual and laboratory skills necessary for a modern researcher. Students will gain significant experience in conducting independent research work, enabling them to enroll in doctoral study programs and competitiveness in the modern labor market.
Last year, this program was funded by the European Social Fund project “OptiLife”, and annually admits 10 students. It is the only research-oriented biotechnology graduate study program in this part of Europe.
The tuition fee is 8,500 euros per year, and the deadline for applications is February 28, 2021.
