The Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Croatia has the honour to announce this year’s Korean Film Week, taking place from 13 to 17 November at Art-kino in Rijeka and from 27 November to 1 December at Kino Kinoteka in Zagreb.

The Korean Film Week in Rijeka officially starts on Monday, November 13 at 19.00 (7.00 PM) with a screening of the Escape from Mogadishu. This South Korean political action thriller film, directed by Ryoo Seung-wan, is based on true events, and set during the overthrow of Siad Barre and the two Koreas’ efforts to be admitted to the United Nations in the late 1980s and early 1990s. It depicts details of a perilous escape attempt made by North and South Korean embassy workers stranded during the conflict.

Art-kino and Kino Kinotek are also screening other Korean movies during the Korean Film Week 2023 with Croatian subtitles at 4 euros per ticket.
