Professor Udo Hebel, Ph.D., President of the University of Regensburg, accompanied by his wife Prof. Birgit Bauridl, Ph.D., visited the University of Rijeka Rectorate on Saturday, October 19, 2019.
Professor Hebel and his wife were welcomed by Prof. Snježana Prijić-Samaržija, Ph.D., UNIRI Rector, Prof. Senka Maćešić, Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Informatization and Organization, Assistant Prof. Nebojša Zelić, Ph.D., Department of Philosophy, UNIRI Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Associate Prof. Vjeran Pavlaković, Ph.D., Department of Cultural Studies, UNIRI Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Ms. Iva Tijan, Rector’s Office/Head of International Office.
The meeting served as an opportunity to discuss possibilities for joint projects and further collaborative innovations from academic, cultural and community aspects, based on the Agreement of Cooperation between the University of Rijeka and the University of Regensburg, signed on 2 May this year. Professor Zelić also stated possible avenues of collaboration within the framework of the upcoming UNIRI Center for Peace and Conflict Studies.
Madam Rector Prijić-Samaržija mentioned one very important form of cooperation, i.e. the organization of a joint summer school in Cres at the Moise Palace, in cooperation with the Institute for Eastern and Southeastern European Studies in Leibniz and the Center for Advanced Studies of Southeast Europe, University of Rijeka (CAS SEE).
