”YUFE Career Development Track for Professional Service Staff” Training Held at UNIRI

Within the scope of the YUFE program, training cycle titled ”YUFE Career Development Track for Professional Service Staff” was held from January 13 to June 3, 2022. The training cycle covered the following areas:

  • YUFE and the European context
  • new trends in recruitment and hiring processes
  • skills of the future
  • career development in teaching and non-teaching staff, and connection with European strategic goals such as open, transparent, and merit-based employment of researchers (OTM-R)
  • diversity, inclusiveness, and implicit bias in hiring processes
  • exchange of skills, knowledge, and experiences.

The final cycle of workshops, which was attended by 18 representatives from various YUFE universities, was held at the University of Rijeka from May 31 to June 3, 2022. Along with the registered participants, the first day of the final cycle was attended by Prof. Gordan Jelenić, Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Science and Arts, Prof. Zoran Sušanj, Ph.D., Rector’s Advisor for Strategic Management and Human Resources, and Aleksandar Šušnjar, YUFE institutional coordinator.

Professor Sušanj held a lecture entitled “Modernization of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) through the Enhancement of Human Resources Management (HRM) Function”.

All trainings were led by Katinka Bastin, Head of the Staff Career Center at the University of Maastricht, and Marjolijn De Clercq, Head of the Talent Management Team at the University of Antwerp.

Marijana Burić Redžović, Head of the General and Human Resources Department at the Faculty of Engineering, and Nikoleta Zubić, Head of the Career Office at the UNIRI Counseling Center, took part in the workshops as representatives of the University of Rijeka.
