YUFE Soon to Offer First Physical Mobility to Its Students

31.03.2021. / news / YUFE Alliance

At YUFE we were busy preparing physical mobility opportunities when COVID-19 hit Europe at the beginning of 2020. All physical preparatory meetings were put to hold and eventually physical mobility of students and staff as well. Luckily, we have been able to move most of our activities online and provide both YUFE students and staff with virtual mobility opportunities, such as online classes, training, etc. Keeping in our positive spirit, YUFE signed an inter-institutional Erasmus+ mobility agreement for the period 2020-2022/23.

YUFE is now providing an opportunity to engage in physical mobility
YUFE is therefore proud to announce that the first Erasmus+ mobility calls will be opened on 7 April at each of the YUFE partner universities. Through the Erasmus+ mobility framework, the first 90 students participating in the YUFE Student Journey will be able to engage in physical mobility.

Upon receiving a grant for physical mobility, the students will be able to register for physical YUFE courses at another YUFE university through the YUFE Virtual Campus and make the necessary arrangements for their move to another country. To make the stay at another university as smooth as possible, the sending and receiving institutions will provide assistance, when required, in all issues regarding visas, insurance, housing, and any further assistance. More information will be available when the calls are launched, including practical details on the application process, course selection, and final mobility arrangement.

There is however no obligation for any YUFE students to move to another country. Physical mobility is optional and YUFE remains committed to providing a lot of virtual courses as well, with students having the option of choosing between or combining physical and virtual mobility.

COVID-19 impact
Having in mind the recent increase in the number of COVID-19 cases throughout Europe, it remains uncertain whether the current pandemic will influence the mobility plans in the fall of 2021. However, YUFE is eager to proceed with the plans and grant awards for physical mobility in the first semester of the next academic year. You will be informed in a timely manner about any potential limitations as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
